HowComputer Tech will perform the following 15 point check list to clean and optimize your machine to perform at or better than factory performance:

 

  • Install all current Microsoft Service Packs and Critical Updates.
  • Remove unneeded, resource stealing, startup programs. (programs that start automatically every time Windows starts, even though you do not need to use them.)
  • Delete unneeded Temporary Windows Files. (junk files left over from the installation routines of programs that have been installed on the PC over time.)
  • Delete unneeded Temporary Internet Files. (junk cache files left over from internet usage over time)
  • Scan the Hard Drive and repair any damage found, if possible. (Bad Sectors, Cross-Linked files, etc.)
  • Defragment the Hard Drive to optimize the order of data for faster, cleaner system access and increased performance.
  • Check existing hardware device drivers to insure proper performance.
  • Check the Windows System Registry for errors, correcting any errors found.
  • Optimize the Windows System Registry for faster access and improved system performance.
  • Optimize the computer BIOS for better performance if needed.
  • Uninstall unneeded and corrupted toolbars for your Internet Browser.  (removes clutter and improves performance.)
  • Check for unneeded and corrupted Active-X Controls and Plugins. 
  • Inspect Computer Hardware for any obvious problems.
  • Thoroughly clean the inside and outside of case.
  • Check the systems level of security and advise customer of potential problem areas and recommend solutions.
